We’re so glad you’re here.
Rock Creek Inn is a small, peaceful inn where guests come to relax, enjoy the foothills, and feel at home. These house guidelines help us keep the property comfortable, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
Please share them with everyone in your party, including visitors.
Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in is between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Arriving later? We are happy to accommodate late check-in with advance notice. Please call or text us at (530) 333-4359 so we can make arrangements for you.
Check-out is by 11:00 a.m.
Early check-in or late check-out may be available depending on room availability and our housekeeping schedule. Please contact us as early as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Quiet Hours
Many guests choose Rock Creek Inn because of its peaceful setting.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
During these hours, please keep voices, televisions, music, phones, pets, and other noise low enough that neighboring guests are not disturbed.
We want you to enjoy yourself and feel comfortable gathering with friends and family. We simply ask that everyone remain considerate of the guests around them.
Registered Guests and Visitors
Only registered guests may stay overnight.
Visitors are welcome with and must follow the inn’s quiet-hour, parking, safety, and property policies.
The registered guest is responsible for the conduct of everyone in their party, including children, visitors, and animals.
Room occupancy may not exceed the maximum number of guests permitted for the reserved room.
Parking
Each room includes one designated parking space near the room.
Additional parking may be available in the rear or side areas of the parking lot. Please contact us if you need space for an additional vehicle.
Please do not block:
- Driveways or entrances
- Walkways
- Fire-access areas
- Neighboring properties
- Other vehicles
Oversized vehicles, trailers, and additional vehicles require advance approval.
Please lock your vehicle and do not leave valuables visible inside. Parking is at the vehicle owner’s risk, and Rock Creek Inn is not responsible for theft, vehicle damage, or belongings left inside vehicles.
Caring for Your Room and the Property
Please treat the inn, furnishings, linens, and grounds with the same care you would give your own home.
We understand that accidents happen. Please let us know as soon as possible if something spills, breaks, becomes damaged, or needs attention. Early notice often allows us to clean or repair the area before the problem becomes more serious.
Guests are responsible for damage, missing property, or extraordinary cleaning caused by themselves, members of their party, visitors, or animals accompanying them.
Any charges will be based on the reasonable cost of cleaning, repair, replacement, or restoration and will be documented whenever practical.
Please do not remove items from the room, move large furniture, or attach decorations to walls, doors, or furnishings without approval.
Safety
Please lock your room and vehicle when unattended.
Do not disable, cover, move, disconnect, or tamper with smoke detectors, carbon-monoxide detectors, locks, cameras, alarms, or other safety equipment.
Candles, incense, fireworks, and other open flames are not permitted.
Children must be supervised, especially near:
- The parking lot and road
- Stairs and walkways
- The fire pit
- Wooded and outdoor areas
Rock Creek Inn is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Please remain aware of natural conditions such as uneven ground, wildlife, insects, changing weather, limited nighttime lighting, falling branches, and wildfire danger.
Please follow any temporary safety instructions provided during your stay, particularly during severe weather or periods of elevated fire risk.
Exterior Security Cameras
For the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property, Rock Creek Inn uses exterior video-security cameras.
Cameras may monitor exterior entrances, the driveway, parking areas, walkways, and outdoor common areas.
There are no cameras inside guest rooms, bathrooms, or other private guest areas, and our security cameras do not record audio.
Recordings are accessed only when reasonably necessary for safety, security, property protection, or investigating a reported incident. Cameras are not monitored continuously and cannot guarantee the prevention of theft, injury, or other incidents.
Please do not cover, disconnect, move, damage, or interfere with any camera or safety device.
Shared Outdoor Spaces
Our shared outdoor spaces are here for you to enjoy.
You are welcome to relax by the gas fire pit, gather with friends or family, enjoy a conversation, or meet other travelers during your stay.
Outdoor chairs and furniture may be moved as needed. Please return everything to its original place when you are finished so the area is ready for the next guests.
Please clean up after yourself, dispose of trash properly, and keep noise at a considerate level, especially during quiet hours.
Gas Fire Pit
Please use the gas fire pit responsibly and never leave it unattended while it is operating.
When you are finished, make sure the fire pit is completely turned off. Children must be closely supervised around the fire pit.
For help operating it, please call or text the manager at (530) 333-4359.
Housekeeping, Towels, and Linens
Please let us know if you need additional towels, linens, toiletries, or other supplies. We are happy to help.
Please do not use guest towels or linens for:
- Cleaning shoes or equipment
- Pet care
- Hair dye
- Removing heavy makeup
- Cleaning spills, grease, mud, or other materials likely to cause permanent staining
We have utility towels available for these purposes. Please ask us, and we will gladly bring some to you.
Additional charges may apply for permanently damaged linens or cleaning that goes beyond normal guest-room use.
Personal Belongings and Lost Items
Please keep personal belongings secure. Rock Creek Inn is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unattended property.
Before checking out, please look through drawers, closets, the bathroom, and around the bed for personal items.
Items left behind will be held for a limited time. Guests are responsible for shipping, packaging, and handling costs associated with returning lost property.
When Something Is Not Right
Your comfort matters to us!
Please call or text us during your stay if something is not working, your room needs attention, another guest is causing a disturbance, or there is anything we can do to improve your visit.
We would much rather have the opportunity to help while you are here than learn afterward that something affected your stay.
Policy Violations
Most concerns can be resolved quickly through a respectful conversation.
Serious, repeated, unsafe, illegal, or disruptive behavior may result in additional charges, cancellation of the remaining reservation, or removal from the property without a refund.
By completing a reservation or staying at Rock Creek Inn, guests agree to follow these policies and accept responsibility for the members of their party, visitors, children, and accompanying animals.
Thank You
Thank you for helping us keep Rock Creek Inn peaceful, comfortable, and welcoming.
We hope you relax, enjoy the foothills, and feel at home during your stay.
Cancellation Policy
Free Cancellation
Guests may cancel their reservation at least 7 days before the scheduled arrival date and receive a full refund of any deposits or advance payments made.
Cancellations Less Than 7 Days Before Arrival
For cancellations made less than 7 days before the scheduled arrival date, the $50 reservation deposit is nonrefundable. We truly understand that life happens. At the same time, Rock Creek Inn is a very small inn, and we rely on each reserved stay to keep our doors open. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and respect for this policy.
No Shows
Guests who do not arrive and do not contact us to cancel will be charged the full amount of the reservation.
Early Departures
Guests who choose to leave before their scheduled departure date are responsible for the full cost of the original reservation. Refunds will not be issued for unused nights. We understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and we encourage guests to contact us as soon as possible so we can review the situation.
Need to Make a Change?
We know plans can change, and we always try to be as flexible and understanding as possible. Please call us at (530) 333-4359 if you need to discuss your reservation. We’re happy to help whenever we can.
Pet Policy
At Rock Creek Inn, we know dogs are family, and we’re happy to welcome them as part of your stay. We do not currently charge a standard pet fee, and we truly appreciate your help in keeping the inn comfortable and pet-friendly for everyone.
Cats and other household pets may be considered on a case-by-case basis and require approval before arrival. Please contact us before booking so we can confirm whether we can comfortably and safely accommodate your pet.
Pet Blankets and Beds
We offer dog blankets for dogs who like to sleep on the bed. Please use the provided blanket to help protect the bedding and keep the room comfortable for future guests.
Dog beds are also available upon request. Our dog beds have waterproof surrounds and removable top covers that are washed after every use.
Supervision and Noise
Pets must remain under their owner’s supervision and control.
Pets should not be left unattended in guest rooms unless they are safely crated or contained and able to remain quiet without disturbing other guests.
Please let us know if your pet becomes anxious when left alone so we can help avoid noise or disturbances.
Accidents, Cleaning, and Damage
Messes happen. If your pet has an accident, becomes sick, or causes damage, please let us know as soon as possible.
The sooner we know, the better chance we have to clean the area properly and prevent stains, odors, or lasting damage.
Guests are responsible for actual damage or extraordinary cleaning caused by their pets, but we will always do our best to handle concerns fairly and with understanding.
Thank you for helping us continue to welcome four-legged family members without adding a standard pet fee.
Outdoor Pet Courtesy
We’re happy for dogs to enjoy the property, and there is plenty of open space toward the back of the inn for walking sniffing, and exploring.
To help keep the areas near guest rooms fresh and pleasant for everyone, please guide dogs away from the breezeway plants, posts, furniture, gazebo curtains, outdoor games, walkways, and other shared guest areas when they need to relieve themselves or mark.
Please use the open areas toward the back of the property and clean up after your dog promptly.
Thank you for helping us keep the inn clean, welcoming, and comfortable for all guests.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcomed at Rock Creek Inn in accordance with applicable federal and California law. Service animals are not pets and are not subject to a pet fee or pet deposit.
Service animals must remain under the control of their handler and must be housebroken.
An animal that is out of control and whose handler does not take effective action to control it, or an animal that is not housebroken, may be required to leave the property. The guest will still be offered the opportunity to remain without the animal when reasonably possible.
Guests are not charged for ordinary shedding or routine cleaning associated with a service animal.
However, as with all guests, the handler is responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing actual damage or completing extraordinary cleaning caused by the guest or the service animal.
Any charge will be based on the actual condition of the room and applied in the same manner as damage charges for other guests.
Please notify us promptly if an accident, mess, or damage occurs so we can address it before it becomes a larger issue.
Parking
There is 1 parking space reserved for each room. Please park in your corresponding parking spot to your room number. Additional parking is in the back or if all rooms are not booked, you may take another spot.
